Heres what you need
RSS feed from  http://djspinnercee.servemp3.com:11423/scStatus.html
http://ping.fm/ To post to face book myspace and Others. Not needed if just doing Twitter.
Andhttp://twitterfeed.com/ To send the feed to ping fm and Twitter.

1. Go here  Put in your IP & port (no Password) Click DNAS status http://djspinnercee.servemp3.com:11423/scStatus.html
2. Next get your RSS Feed link From the rss button
3.Go to http://twitterfeed.com/ And enter your RSS link.
Set up your settings etc. ( It took a 6 hours for this to start working after i finished, so be patient)
If your using Ping fm http://ping.fm/ Click on the P at the top.

And here is how it looks on Twitter. I set ping vine to update every hour so i wouldnt flood followers. http://twitter.com/thebig429

I saw this on my facebook and I like it.  Get the odd update, if I like the name of the song I'll tune in (and did do after a song I like came up the other week) so this has massive potential as a great marketing tool and way to retain listeners.

Dear BIG,

I am sorry for going about this like this. I tried several time to send you a private message, but I don't think it actually went.

Here is the text:

"Hello,
Please forgive me, I do not want to follow you around, but you might be so kind as to answer a question I might have, concerning a PAL-script.

(We are operating with SAM- 3.5 [bought it for Veterans-National-Radio.org, 4 years ago]), and just started running a web-radio for a popular Band in Basel - Switzerland. We are just in the process of setting up a workable system, using SAM.

However, a while back I have been reading a post of yours at a Winamp-Forum, where you were kind enough to posted a Pal-script, managing the count of Christmas songs, 1 song after every 10th. regular song.

I am fairly familiar as to how to enter PAL-scripts, but with yours, as short as it is, I am not sure as to how the Pal-script pulls the Christmas songs, other than it pointing to the folder where they are stored.

I tried several ways, but to no avail.

Would you be so kind as to describe in some short few steps the procedures, how I should go about this?

Thank you very much.

God bless you

Roland Zuercher"

Would like to update this post;

http://www.pingvine.com/ = Offline

Attempted to try, ping.fm - but they don't support 'RSS Feeds'.
http://pingfm.pbworks.com/RSS-to-Ping

Ping.fm does not support RSS Feeds directly, but there are third party applications that allow you to do this:

http://twitterfeed.com/

This allows you to even add 'Multiple Accounts' for example Twitter and/or other 3rd party applications.

    * Twitter
    * Laconica
    * Ping.fm
    * Hellotxt
    * Facebook

I could attempt to make my own XML Feed and input into my twitter by myself, but this works fine for now and thought I would update it.

This way works but sometimes it goes days without working so I figured out another way that works 100% everytime but you need to install a simple PHP script on your webserver..

Its called twittercast just google it..and what I do is I use this to post the current song to twitter then I use the twitter rss feed from my profile  (bottom right on your twitter profile page under followers and list etc)  with Rss Graffiti and auto post to Facebook...it works 100% of the time and i never get a hiccup..

also with twittercast you can set it to post however often you want on twitter by setting a cron job..then also just go to the index page of the script and it will post to twitter also...along with the cron job i set an auto refresh rate on the index page of the twittercast directory..so when i open the page it refreshes automatically every 4 mins and as long the song changed it posts to twitter..

this combo is great cuz even when i post other stuff on twitter it posts on facebook too..like when i post my twitpics  or RT messages..if anyone is interested i can try to write up a whole tutorial on it..just lmk but its pretty straight forward

Hello,

        I’ve tested many already created hosting sites where you can grab stats from your stream and auto tweet it and they don’t turn out to work as well.

        I’ve considered writing my own code as I’m a PHP developer myself, but since theirs tools already out their; I figure I’ll try and see if there was some sort of already created solution out there. Thus bringing me too this forum thread and decided to give this “twitter script” a shot.

   After 5 minutes of downloading, creating twitter application, getting APIs and tokens, updating configuration, setting file permissions and tested via browser. It does it work! – After browser test I’ve moved to using a cron job – and still works.

   Thus be the reason I’m posting now, I’ve noticed a few people have struggled getting this to work and I’ve tested this on CentOS with cPanel running Apache.

Quote
Quote
Register Application: http://dev.twitter.com/apps/new

   The following details that says “MediaOnAir” represents my company name – and I used for this test, please use your own radio station name when creating your application for twitter. Keep in mind – where ever you want your song displayed on your twitter account you MUST log into that account to create an application.

Quote
Application Type: Browser
Callback URL: Blank
Default Access type: Read & Write

   After you submit your application will automatically be created and you have API keys instantly.

   Now we’re going to update the twitter.php file, open twitter.php in your favorite editor, if you don’t have one you can open in notepad.

   I’ve labeled above where each key goes where based on the variable presented in the twitter.php.

   After you fill in those details – you will notice a ‘red box’ that points to ‘Click here’ this is your access token which is required.

Again, I’ve labled where each token goes where in the twitter.php file.

   Now we need to update the radio settings to get the information, change these settings to your host and port.

Code:
$ip[1] = "123.123.123.123";
$port[1] = "8000";

   If you have more than one stream than you need to do the same for the other ports. You can add by copy and pasting and changing to the next number.

Code:
$ip[4] = "123.123.123.123";
$port[4] = "8000";

Or just remove all but 1.

   After completed, save twitter.php – name the folder whatever you like and upload to your document root directory for it to be web accessiable, As mentioned earlier, I run cPanel therefore my doc root would be public_html – and I named my folder ‘twitter’ and uploaded it with all files inside.

   If you right-click on title.txt in your FTP client (I use FileZilla) goto properties or could also be permissions if you’re using a different client – You need to set these permissions to 777 – make sure all boxes are checked or you can just type 777 in the input field. Again, I use cPanel chmod can also be done via the file manager.

After this, we can now being testing via the browser.

Web Test 1:

Success! – Does it post to twitter?

Twitter Test 1:

Success – Let’s try this again after browser refresh.

Web Test 2:

Success – Does it post to twitter?

Twitter Test 2:

Success! – Now let’s add cron job.

   First, we need to add the cron job, most control panels support this as I use cPanel it does and even makes it easy for you. If you don’t use cPanel – ask your host if you’re unsure about adding cron jobs. All configurations will be more less the same.

Login cPanel – and go to Cron Jobs.

   In cPanel theirs a dropdown box, Select ‘Common Settings: Every minute (*****) I’ve tested this to make sure it doesn’t double post or anything and it don’t.

You need to chage the command to use your own domain name;
Quote
* * * * * wget -O /dev/null http://yourdomain.com/twitter/twitter.php >> /dev/null 2>&1

   Most people copy and paste ***** in the command line, do not do this! – Copy from wget as shown above.

Add New Cron Job; Close Browser and Let’s Test!

Shoutcast DNAS Test:

Twitter Test 3:

After a few minutes it’s posted for a few songs.

Quote
Proof of Concept:
http://djcast.net/twitter/twitter.php (Song Showing)

http://twitter.com/mediaonair (Song Posting -- avg. 4 Minutes)

   You can alter data if you know how to display your website or remove item’s – If you notice I’ve removed the listeners and added a website url. If you don’t know PHP than I don’t recommend updating this, if you want a certain way to be display ask here and I’m sure me or others will be willing to help.

   Lastly, 7.html has been deprecated in Shoutcast V2 – therefore it will not work – but theirs already scripts out there that support logging into Shoutcast and grabbing the XML data to display the song data, I’ll possibly update this to get this working.[/FONT]

NOTE: I just posted this on this thread which hasn't been approved yet; therefore you can use these steps.

EXACTLY THE SCRIPT I WAS TALKING ABOUT...and like you I removed listeners but also added the Now Playing Twitter Hashtag #NP and my station hashtag #TM101RADIO along with my web addy..

to take all that one step further you can now feed your Twitter profile to your facebook page with your profiles RSS feed which is in the right hand column all the way at the bottom..

I uses this method rather then the FACEBOOK TWITTER APP because I use the RSS feed with RSS graffiti which allows you to not post tweets containing certain keywords, create a source link back to your website that is added to the post and even add prefix's to the feed if you wish..

Great writeup btw @MediaONAIR
